St Hubert's Church, Corfe Mullen, Poole, Dorset, England.

St. Hubert's church, is the church My brother and his wife recently married in. it is such a lovely little church. I decided to take a few pictures of it, just on my phone. I had the idea to produce a few renders, which I thought might act as a nice wedding gift.

My (beautiful) wife Vicky read a poem out during the wedding service  a poem we both wrote about love and pertinent to the happy couple).

When I finished the first few renders of the church, I had the idea to print out the images along with a copy of the poem, getting the whole thing framed.

Please go to the bottom of this page to see the result.

These photographs are straight from my phone camera. They are not great quality, they are just quick snaps. But they are the basis of my drawings which follow. These photographs really are to aid the memory for the details and rough scale for example.

Perspective View

See the sketch style, hand hatched technique bring this church to life.

A wonderful example of my hatch style, with a hint of  colour on the grass as well as amongst the few trees in the background to help balance the image.

Simple yet effective. below is the final image culminated from the previous two images  and with sketchy human representations to really give the building a sense of scale and purpose.  I muted the colours and added texture too.

Tower Entrance View

A wonderful example of my hatch style, with a hint of  colour on the grass as well as amongst the few trees in the background to help balance the image.

I later muted these colours a little to match the perspective view , so they were more congruent as an overall picture and didn't take away from the words of the poem.

Layout Presentations

Layouts are my favourite. The really tell a storey. Below my two favourite examples from this project, just playing with the colour, to be more  subtle.
