JJ's Dream

JJ's Dream originated as an AI prompted image, produced by a friend of mine (Who's initials are JJ).
The idea was to push AI to find its limitations. And although his image seems impressive at first there are many issues with it.
The main issue being control, but more about that later. without boring you too much, I took it upon myself to recreate his image using my Sketch style Render Techniques. I will include his image for a direct comparison only. below.
Both images are good. I don't think you can argue they are not.
It may well be, some people prefer his AI image, Maybe!?, ( I think you'd be crazy ..but..) One thing is for sure.. It was certainly quicker to produce than my version, The main reason for this being that I had to actually build the 3D model from scratch, just using his 2D image as a reference, before I could even start my Sketch Style Render process. (normally the model would already have been built)
However, If you look more closely at the AI version, you will find Things aren't quite right, And I don't just mean the actual perspective. The notation and line work is random and meaningless with no real correlation to the building . The perspective is off, ( oh , did I mention that already)
The AI Elevation doesn't corelate or make any sense, (it's really just for decoration). Yes I have added artistic random line work to help the image look more old school Architectural sketch Style but I've done it in a way that attempts at least, in most cases, to corelate to the actual building.
The main difference though is a very important one. My image is produced from an actual 3D modal, as I mentioned earlier. this means I have all the relevant data, dimensions, site position etc, , I also have the ability to change edit/replace elements very easily and relatively quickly.
Also I have included People. My own hand drawn people to help give a better sense of scale and place and purpose.
My hand drawn hatches , give a Beautiful and evocative quality to the shadows, I feel really enhancing the entire drawing.
Below, I have some more cool examples of the sketch style render using this model. With different effects like lights on for example or on a brown paper background. Just to demonstrate the versatility the process as well as how cool it looks.
Hatch Style,
With blue glass & some colour,
Below, I overlay brown paper texture and colours too to enhance the Architectural style of the building.
A simple elevation,
My Hatch style shadows, with minimal line work and a couple of people for a sense of scale.
Layout format, is a great way to tell your story.
See the next image below, we have a layout of my two favourite individual perspective and elevation views,
put together and enhanced as part of a presentation complete with a border for good measure.
